What is a Domain/Domain Name and why do I need it?
answer ...
Domain Name
All websites throughout the world are identified with a numerical value, e.g. 192.168.1.1 that corresponds to the physical computer on which it runs, however, you can imagine how difficult it would be to connect to eBay, or Microsoft if you had to remember their numerical addresses. So a cross reference has been developed to match a numerical value to a more readable form. For instance, our site, www.Hudacko-Enterprises.com is located on a server at the numerical address, 68.178.254.191, but it's much easier to remember
www.Hudacko-Enterprises.com, than it is to remember 68.178.254.191.
Domain Names are maintained by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
